About Gayle Levée

Gayle Levée, a third-generation artist, began her classical training at a young age, influenced by her artist parents and grandfather. She pursued her passion for painting at the University of Denver, majoring in the subject. Even during her time in school, Levée's talent allowed her to support herself through art sales in galleries located in Taos, Santa Fe, and Estes Park. As she entered her twenties, Levée made the decision to move to the East Coast.

In New England, Gayle became a member of the prestigious Copley Society and studied under the guidance of Robert Douglas Hunter, following the Boston School tradition. Her unique artistic style quickly gained recognition, leading to exhibitions in galleries across Boston, Cape Cod, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the Central South.

Gayle Levée's workshops in the Boston School of painting have been featured in American Artist magazine. Recently, her work was highlighted in American Art Review, alongside her mentor, Robert Douglas Hunter.

Levée is a member of the Oil Painters of America, the Hudson Valley Artists’ Association, the American Artists’ Professional League and the Art Renewal Center.
