The Business of Art
(Lecture and Discussion)
Gayle Levee

Even Rembrandt and Michelangelo had to attend to the business of their art. They had to find patrons, hire assistants, and pay taxes. Yet in our day, we try to pretend that we are somehow “above” such mundane considerations. In this lecture, I will address questions such as how to find display venues, how to price your art, how to track expenses, and further pragmatic issues. If you have wrestled with this aspect of the art world, you will find many answers here.
This lecture and discussion begins at 9:00 am on January 30

Bringing Life to Your Paintings
Slice of Heaven

Wouldn’t you like to know how to include people, animals, birds and children in your paintings? There are some professional tips for adding life to your oil or acrylic paintings, and I want to share them with you.

This is a twelve week course beginning on January 14, from 9:00 am until noon.

Making Color Sparkle Endless Summer

Have you ever tried to get beautiful colors into your paintings—but somehow it just looked dull? How can you make your paintings glow with rich, saturated color? This twelve-week course will answer all your color questions. We’ll study the way artists used color in the Renaissance, during the Impressionist period, and during the years of Modernism. You will develop an understanding of color which will open your eyes and improve your paintings tremendously.

This is a twelve-week course beginning January 14, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
